Hi all,
Soon we will be readying a Build Server for CI for our new product currently in development. I've been experimenting, learning, playing in a 2013 TFS App Tier/2013 Build Server environment. However, I've come to learn that the new product Development
team is using VS 2015 (prerelease).
So, I think I may have an issue with version compatibility. In the Build Machine Upgrade Tips ofhttps://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee259687.aspx it indicates than an earlier version Build Server can work with a more recent version of the Application Tier, but I'm guessing
this cannot be the case if the tables were turned. If I create the Build Server for the new product with the 2015 Build Service, I see conflict in working with TFS App Tier 2013, which will remain in place until the official release of 2015. If
I'm incorrect with that guess, please let me know!!
If that is correct, what are my options? Should we hold off on CI until the company fully moves to TFS/VS 2015. I guess I could try the Build Server as 2013 with VS 2013 installed, but I don't see that working too well compiling the newer
2015 projects.
If anyone could provide insight into a way out of my dilemma I would GREATLY appreciate it!
Thanks ahead of time!!
