Transfer TFS online to company under MSDN

Hi everyone, need help, here's the situation:

1. I have set up a free account with TFS online which allows me to add 5 users. The TFS online is under an account that I set up specifically for a project. Been using it for a team of 3, so the free account is sufficient for our needs.

2. Now that the project team is getting bigger (8 users), free account is not enough anymore. My company is an MSDN subscriber and I see that MSDN subscriber will have unlimited number of users. But how do I go about doing this? Do I have to transfer the TFS online to be under my company's MSDN user? and how do I change existing users (my colleagues) from Basic type to MSDN Subscriber type?

Error while doing set up HTTPS with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for Team Foundation Server

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to setup SSL for my TFS using below link, i have got legal certificate from external provider and have done all setup in IIS, when i try to access from browser using https://xxxxxxxx/tfs it works. As per below document there is stage where u have to change the URL in TFS Admin console but i am getting below error.

Connect to TFS using different credentials than those used to launch Visual Studio

Hi,

I currently need to run Visual Studio as a separate administrator account, but I want to be able to connect to a local TFS server in Team Explorer using my normal Windows account.  Is there a way to do this?  If not, all my changesets will show up against the administrator account.

Similar to CTRL+G for search by TFS ID, Would need to create a shortcut  for a custom text field we have created. Any pointers to how to do this?

We run the tools developed out side of Microsoft but downloaded from their site.  We are looking for support for the tools.  We are experiencing issues with these tools after the upgrade.

Do you offer pay per incident support?

how do I delete client change sets and force a fresh check out from the server?

Dear Team Foundation Server:

I am setting up for clients to check out my source code I uploaded to my Azure Team Foundation account.

I made some typos and created a 'New Folder' and the server source path has this in its path.

I also have some misspelled and misplaced source roots. I want it to mirror the Visual Studio tree.

This nested sources and resources and packages caused all sorts of problems with GIT. So I'm trying this in

Team Server.  How do I revise the source path and reset the client so it is not trying to upload wrong versions downloaded

and now are trying to upload?

Is there a way to make my source precious? I have had disasters where the server clobbered my source. How do I define my source as master and the server mirror it, and if someone makes a change, it gets uploaded as a branch?

TFS 2012 || Rename deleted file

Hi, I want to rename a deleted folder, so far I did the most obvious solution which is undelete it rename it and then delete it again....

It creates a new deleted folder with the same name I try to change, plus the folder I already renamed; I've been checking, but so far, I have not found a way to rename it while deleted...

Can you tell me if that's possible and if is, tell me how or direct me to the appropriate documentation?

Is there any way to get count of files in TFS 2012 update 4...

I could retrieve the changeset history of all collections from command prompt, but i need count of files if possible.

Cannot access TFS - time out

Our TFS suddenly stopped working after being successful for 5 years...

I am getting time out messages and nothing meaningful in the logs.

Request timed out.
System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.

   at System.Web.UI.Page.AsyncPageBeginProcessRequest(HttpContext context, AsyncCallback callback, Object extraData)

   at System.Web.HttpApplication.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute()
   at System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously)

The TFS Admin is configured correctly. I tried to switch TFS Service to an admin account that has sysadmin privileges to the SQL Server where TFS databases are hosted but there is no improvement.

I cannot even navigate to the TFS locally via URL: http://localhost:8080/tfs/web/

This production source control, build machine and work item tracking server. Any help in resolving the issue is greatly appreciated.

TFS 2015 Express - Licence has expired, must upgrade to RTM, but RTM not available????

Hello,

I'm (trying) to use TFS 2015 Express in conjunction with VS 2015 Community Edition.  Everything was working fine when both were in the RC stages, but now that I've upgraded to VS 2015 Community Edition RTM, TFS no longer works properly.

When I run the admin console for TFS, I get a message box telling me my licence has expired (the 'Activate' button is disabled) and I now need to install the RTM version.  Thing is THE RTM VERSION ISN'T AVAILABLE!

I've tried extending the licence for TFS, but that doesn't work.

HELP!  Is the TFS RTM available?

remove Backlog Priority from my PBI view, now that it auto fills

since the last update i can no  longer use the Backlog Priority field to set the Priority for my PBI as a product owner. how do i adjust the PBI display to remove it from the view and show the Priority field instead?

TFS 2012 Build service configuration

Hi All,

I am trying to configure my TFS Build service but there is a problem.

At the stage of verification, I am getting error without any details

I have found some info in log:

"Running AccountMatchesDefinition: Verifying that the account is valid in the context"

But I don't have a clue about this issue. Any help? What could possibly be wrong?

TFS Query Does Not Allow Custom Field Negative Integer Value

Hello,

    We have defined an Integer Custom Field in our templates, which does permit us to store both positive and negative values.  However, when we attempt to use the TFS Web Portal to do an ad hoc query for a negative value, we get an error that says:

"Expecting integer value. The error is caused by -20768"

We are using TFS 2013 Update 3.

Do we have to do anything special to the field definition so that TFS query will permit us to enter negative values?

How do I use TFS Build 2015 with VSO?

I want to use the On-Premise version of TFS Server and the new build server where my source is stored in Visual Studio Online.  I see guides and notes about doing this with the old (XAML) based builds but not the new one.  How do I point my build definition toward a VSO repository?  I see that I can install a build agent and manage the builds from VSO but I don't want to do that.  I want the build server itself managed on premise.  Any help here would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Description of PBI dissapears

Hi,

After we changed our state definitions. Our Product Backlog Items descriptions are missing.
All the descritpions for the specific team project are lost. We have a blank field.

It seems that the field is now linked on Description instead of HTML Description.

Help is required!!!

Reports are not showing after move collection to another tfs application tier

Hi,

       1.Today i moved one team project collection from one TFS 2013 application tier to another .

       2.I click STARTREBUILD option on Reporting for TFS administration console on both machines.

       3.After i checked reports.

        4.I got the following error  The 'Warning' parameter is missing a value  on reports page
