Hi to all,
I am working on Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
I know how to change the theme per user - and I did it , but
how to change theme for tfs in visual studio per server?

I had installed TFS 2012 on our Windows 2008R2 server, there was a conflict in the port 8080 so I ran TCPView.exe to see what was using the port and it was ApplicationWebServer.exe
I killed that process to get TFS running and it seemed to fix the issue, we finished configuring the Application Tier of TFS and created a repository and users. Things seemed fine until we had to restart the server today due to unrelated issues.
Got the same error when trying to connect to TFS, went into TCPView.exe shutdown the ApplicationWebServer.exe process and we are still getting the TF400324 error.
I have followed advioce of others to clear the cache as mentioned in this post
http://www.ganshani.com/blog/2014/03/solved-tf400324-team-foundation-services-are-not-available-from-server/
but to no avail.
Is there a way to reset and move the port used by TFS??
Thank you in advance,
Mike
Dear Team Foundation Server:
I am setting up for clients to check out my source code I uploaded to my Azure Team Foundation account.
I made some typos and created a 'New Folder' and the server source path has this in its path.
I also have some misspelled and misplaced source roots. I want it to mirror the Visual Studio tree.
This nested sources and resources and packages caused all sorts of problems with GIT. So I'm trying this in
Team Server. How do I revise the source path and reset the client so it is not trying to upload wrong versions downloadedand now are trying to upload?
Is there a way to make my source precious? I have had disasters where the server clobbered my source. How do I define my source as master and the server mirror it, and if someone makes a change, it gets uploaded as a branch?
Cheers!

Visual studio online has a nice feature that allows users to edit code files using a web browser, e.g. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/buckh/archive/2015/03/18/add-edit-rename-and-delete-files-in-the-web-browser-with-visual-studio-online-and-tfs-2015.aspx
How can I do the same for TFS 2013 on premise? I can access my repository using a url like the below:
https://tfs.mydomain.com/tfs/MyProductCollection/_git/MyProject
But the UI doesn't seem to have an edit menu.
Hi,
I'm having problem with connecting to TFS from Visual studio 2010. When it starts loading login screen, it gives error on javascript:
An error has occurred in the script on this page
Line: 4
Char: 431
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
URL: https://app.bssps.visualstudio.com/_static/tfs/20150723T193831/_scripts/TFS/min/VSS/LoaderPlugins/Css.js
I'm using online TFS, and Visual Studio 2010 on Windows XP, and Internet Explorer 8. There is no possibility to go to Windows 7 or higher because of company policy, and it won't be changed in next half year.
Obviously this is error on login page that doesn't support Internet Explorer 8. Is there any way that this could be resolved?
Thanks
Hi,
I am using TFS 2013.
I am using scrum templates.
In Backlog , workitems are not showing in order which is availble in Team Web Access.
Can any one please tell me how to sort it???
Ex: Product backlog item 778 is shown in 5th place and 775 is shown in 30th place. It is not in order. It should be in after in 778.
775,778 are work items id.
Hello,
Win 8.1, VS2013, TFS2013, Server2012 Standard
I'm writing this post more as providing feedback in case it's useful, and also to eventually be able to transition to update 4, but for now I've had to fallback to update 3 so I can continue to work unhindered.
The context: I was running all the above on a PC that due to a minor display failure ending up having to be replaced with an entirely new unit (long story made short). The setup was a Win 8.1 host with 3 VM's; one the domain controller, one a TFS, and a build server done primarily for the experience of it. I made no changes to the new unit's OS and simply moved data over and installed all my applications on the new PC. This was the first time I had moved VM's, but in the end the export and import seemed to go smoothly. Unwisely I installed VS2013 update 4 during this changeover; I say unwise because I was changing more than one thing at the same time. That's not a complaint about VS updates - I think they're great. Thanks for them!
The problem: When VS on the new PC wouldn't connect to TFS I wasn't sure if it was a program problem or my transfer technique. Some of my research indicated the client TFS cache might need to be cleared if I had connected to 2 different TFS installations from the same VS client. I thought that might be my problem as I had been going back and forth between the old TFS location and the new one during testing, so I cleared the cache and it seemed to work; but only for a while. After struggling with it, I uninstalled update 4 and reinstalled update 3. Update 3 connected to the moved TFS before I could even get my eyes back to the screen, where I had been waiting for long durations for update 4 to finally state TFS could not be contacted.
I had noticed a message in update 4 to contact Microsoft if there were long delays or problems bringing up update 4, so I decided to post here. If there is a better place I should have posted, please teach me and I'll move the post.
Thanks.
Best Regards,
Alan
Hi,
I would like to know who changed which permissions and when did the change in permissions take place for a given project.
I have come across the query
select
*fromDefault_Project_Collection.dbo.tbl_Commandwith(nolock)whereuseragentLIKE'Team Foundation (witadmin.exe%'..
However, I would like to know the details of change(which user and what permissions and project )are changed.
I also looked at
<project collectionurl>/_oi/_diagnostics/activityLog and found the jobs ids and application a nd commands -- but iwant to know the details of change

I'm trying to create a Test Case chart with TFS 2013 Update 4.
I open my TFS project in a browser.
I select "Test" from the top menu.
I select one of my Test Plans
I select "Charts" from the right-hand side
I select "New"
I select "New test case chart"
I select "Group by"
Nothing appears
What should show up here and why doesn't it?
Bruce
I know the title is a little sketchy but I wanted it to be close to my question.
Should one use a TFS workspace or keep using say "My Documents\Visual Studio 201X\Projects"?
Or am I thinking of the use of workspaces all wrong?
Hi

Hi
I have TFS 2013.5. I want to migrate from this version to TFS 2015.
how can do it?
Hi all,
I've moved a few folders that were under a team project in TFS into another team project.
The move worked fine and everything was kept, including history.
But now I deleted the original team project where the folders were originally and when I check the history under the files on the new location everything is gone.
Do I need to keep the original team projects in order to keep track if previous history changes?

Hi,
I know that I need to create a TFS (2013/ 2015) server side plugin as I would like update an existing server side plugin.
What is the minimum that I need to create/update the plugin?
I have installed Visual Studio (2013 and 2015).
Do I need to install the express or the full version of Team Foundation Server?
Or would it be okay to copy the dlls from the TFS server onto my local machine?
Thanks,
Michael
After upgrading TFS 2015 RC to RC2 I was getting the following build failure message when it tried getting the latest sources:
TF204017: The operation cannot be completed because the user (Project Collection Build Service) does not have one or more required permissions (Administer) for workspace
The issue was resolved by going to the collection's Security tab in the web portal control panel, clicking on Users, locating "Project Collection Build Service," clicking Join Group, and joining "Project Collection Build Service Accounts."
When updating any date field in the web UI, the date in VS studio and the date when exporting to excel is 1 day off.
EX: Set actual deployment date to 7/30 in web UI. Web UI will save as 7/31/2015 12:00:00 AM. VS will show 7/30/2015. Excel will show7/30/2015 10:00 PM.
Does anyone know how to fix this or why this is happening?
Hi
Are we use Release Management for C++ projects? or only use for Web Develop.!?
