Best Practice to Preserve TFS Client Settings After TFS Migration?

Hello,

I'm working on a plan to migrate our TFS 2008 SP1 to TFS 2012 using the "move to new hardware" migration option. As far as I can tell, this will result in a new server name and URL, which will break all of our Visual Studio Client and Doc to Help Source Code Control connections... correct?

So is there any way to preserve the client connections, redirecting their TFS name and URL settings, making them think they are connecting to the old server?
