my boss tried adding the .rptproj.user to TFS.  I got the latest and I do see the file in my directory but it still does not work.  Any idea how to get my project to work?  Can we use TFS?  I do not know whether the issue is with VS or TFS.

We are using TFS2015Up1 and notification alerts (for example, workitem changed mail) coming at average 16-26 hours in TFS2015Up1.

But when i try a test mail from TFS Admin console it comes immediately.

Generally there are ALWAYS 1500-1800 rows in table dbo.tbl_NotificationQueue (most of them [60-70%] related to yesterday events), and i havent seen this table row count melted to zero.

Also tables tbl_EventNotification and tbl_MailQueue row count generally zero.

And from _oi monitoring web site Job Monitoring-->Job Queue-->In Progress -->Team Foundation Server Event Processing 's run time is 05:14:56 now. And total run time of this event is about 26 hours in tow days! (I get this info from Job Monitoring-->Job Summary-->Total Run Time for Each Job page)

How can we customize this Pivot Chart to have full view for all members ?

I understand TFS with update 2.1 and later has release deployment capabilities. can any tell me if TFS also allows configuration management?  I am not talking about version control of the software. that TFS does. I am talking about a configuration data base where we can have CI items and relationships defined and established. more like asset and configuration management in ITIL for example. we use TFS at our work place and looking forward for a CMDB and wondering if TFS already provides such capabilities. I checked with microsoft rep via chatting and was suggested to check on this forum

I use TSF 2012 (although would like to know if the solution exists in later versions, too) and I have specific structure of .xml files in the project on which automatic merge doesn't work properly - xml structure can get messed up.

So, I setup external merging tool for .xml files and it work very good when it find conflicts - as I can use 'Merge changes in Merge  tool' option and all works OK since I manually merge them with this external tool.

The problem is when TFS doesn't find conflicts when merging certain .xml files and just does it automatically. I would like to prevent any automatic merging of all .xml files - I need to merge in external tool every single one.

Is that possible in version 2012 or any other (later?) versions?

but when i execute this it says TFPT is not a recognized command , i have made sure that TFS power tools for 2015 is installed and i can see the tfpt.exe over there in the folder.

1) I participate in them as a tester.

2) Also, to view the Dev task that belong to the PBI.

3) Also, to view the bugs belong to the PBI.

When I click the "Send Email" from Relase Management, it sends an email with a link back to Release Management Summary that is actually a ReleaseId + 1 of the actual current Release.  Is this a bug that the app just sorta automatically figures out or is there some real disconnect? 

Seems like its a zero-based array in one system and a one-based array in a different one.

Also why don't the commit descriptions get sent in the email?

Lastly...when can we get this summary email sent in an automation step in the Release Management configuration?

Detached collection as hit a 10GB limit on SQL Express 2012 R2 backed up and restored the database onto a 2012 Enterprise edition server and attached the collection in the admin console pointing to the new instance.

That worked ok but when accessing a project in the web interface I get this:

Hi there,

we've just migrated our TFS 2012 U2 Express to 2013 Express. Unfortunately we faced a lot of problems while doing so including a complete reinstall of the TFS.

We then wanted to attach our old 2012 Collection which was only possible after repairing the collection with a temporary 2012 instance via tfsconfig /recover (database wasn't found in the dialogue, /recover option isn't available anymore in 2013).

After a few hours of work we were able to finally re-attach the collection to the new TFS 2013. Since then we can't use the webinterface anymore for the re-attached collection. The following error get's thrown:

We've created a new collection and everything works like a charm.

It seems the TFS2013 didn't upgrade the database scheme of the old 2012 collection, as some tables like tbl_Group, tbl_GroupMembership and tbl_GroupScope are missing.

Is there any option to manually upgrade the database? It seems like there is also not an option to copy/migrate existing projects to a new collection so we need to check those projects in in a new collection but of course we will loose the complete check-in history.

Apologies if this is in the incorrect place. I haven't posted here before so apologies in advance.

A few weeks ago I got into programming, but just recently I found a friend who'd like to team up for a small project. I know Visual Studio has some features to help teams make projects, but I'm not entirely certain of what those features are or how to find them. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be great :)

I have used the cloud-based Load Testing feature to run tests that are stored in Visual Studio Online.

Is it also possible to use cloud-based Load Testing to run tests that are in an on-premise installation of Team Foundation Server?  When I try, I get an invalid cast exception regarding the LoadTestController.

All documentation seems to point to only using VSTS / Visual Studio Online.
