TFS workspace mapped to a directory on a shared drive

Hi,

 

I have a TFS workspace mapped to a directory on a shared drive.

 

Recently, there have been problems in downloading files from the server as well as checking in and out files.

 

While getting the latest version, all the files were downloaded. However, the TFS explorer showed the status of the files a s "not downloaded".

 

When I tried to perform a "Get specific version". I got conflicts saying my local files were writable(when I had not changed them manually or checked out).

 

After, resolving the conflicts by replacing the local copy with the server one. When I try check out the file I get error "No Matching items found in your workspace".

 

Everything works fine when I map the workspace to a folder in my local machine.

 

Can anyone throw some light on what went wrong? I had been using the shared drive folder successfully for quite some time.
