I am attempting to move our TFS databases from our old server to a new virtual machine but I am unable to back up the TFS databases. I tried various accounts…
“Permission denied in database”
“The server principal is not able to access he database Tfs_MyFirstCollection”
Many of the instructions I have seen for backing up and restoring don’t seem to apply because I am running such an old server OS.
Are there special instructions for backing from an old server to a much newer one? Specifics follow.
Old Server:
OS: Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2
SQL Server 2008 R2
MS Team Foundation Server 2010
MS Visual Studio 2010 (2012 not supported for Win Server 2003)
New Server
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL Server 2014
TFS Server 2015 RC2
We access TFS via Visual Studio.
