Hi,
We were in the process of importing our custom templates (user story.xml, bug.xml, etc.) to a Team Project in our TFS QA environment. We are using the Process Editor from the Power Tools. Each work item needs to be imported separately, one at a time. What I hadn't noticed was that although I had Visual Studio 2013 pointing to TFSQA there is a server connection for the Process Editor to "Disconnect from server" and "Connect to server". This is a separate connection from what VS is connected to and unfortunately for me it was connected to TFSPROD rather than TFSQA. So, I imported all of the work item templates into PROD rather than QA. When I brought up TFS2013 web and selected the Team Project it showed me the same information as before I imported. Then I looked at TFSPROD and connected to the Team Project and there was the error message that "TF400917: The current configuration is not valid for this feature. This feature cannot be used until you correct the configuration." and rightly so.
Is there any way to recover that data from the work items for this server (maybe from the SQL dB or something)? If there is some way to do this then we could save this data (which was our plan to do BEFORE updating TFSPROD)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
