I posted the below in a different form (MTM) and was told that the tags are inherit to the product and the only way to remove the tags is by using a WIC tool. Can someone please let me know if my issue is TFS settings related or by design and is a tool required for tags to not appear in test steps summary section of MTM:

When I review changes made to Steps in a case tags appear. This does not occur in other sections of a test case; for example, the header.
Below is what appears in the New Value and Old Value areas in the Summary section of a case when data has been changed. The tags make it impossible to decipher. I need to find out how to stop them from appearing. The sample is small but you should get the idea if you have many steps and many changes.
