Moving from TFS 2010 to TFS 2013

I am moving code from TFS 2010 to TFS 2013.

I download the latest code from TFS 2010 to my hard disk.

I try the code upload the directly to TFS 2013. That does not work, becuase a project can not be connect to two different TFS servers at the same time. I not found a way to disconnect code from TFS.

I copy the code to a new folder on my disk. That allows me to upload the code to TFS 2013.

Is that the best solution? is there a better way?
